Fibre sculpture — reclaimed textiles, fibre and netting
Image to come(Missing info)Exhibited in The Fire and After (2017–present)
A sprawling, floor-based fibre form built from reclaimed textiles, fibre and netting, evoking mycelial growth — the fungal networks that decompose and remediate contaminated ground. Its title names mycoremediation, the use of fungi to break down pollutants.
Part of de Villiers’ recent ecological work, made in response to the wildfires around Ponte da Mucela, it was shown in Feito & re-Feito (2024).
