Voyaging into the unknown, the ship ventures passage into a liminal, in-between zone.Celia de Villiers

Made with Elfriede Dreyer. The ship is feminine: sensual, voluptuous, evocative of a swimmer/fish/boat in congealed water. Fractured and turbulent, it expresses incongruity through the junction of opposites — the fluidity of water and light against the rigidity of metal; materiality and immateriality.

Voyaging into the unknown, the ship transmutes time and ventures into a liminal, in-between zone — a heterotopic island, simulating a world functioning according to its own internal structure, navigating into the future.
